our parking structure is too confusing for even the birds

i saved a life!!

haha. no, it's actually more like, i saved a bird. and by saved a bird i mean chased it around-- in a meaningful way of course. :P

ok ok ok, so basically i was going to Jewel with the mother and in the parking structure of my building, we noticed this little lost brown pidgeon (i'm guessing that it was a young female.. not sure though). anyway, the poor thing probably got scared by the cars and made it way up the building looking for an exit, but once you get past the garage door, there are no exit holes large enough for a bird- maybe a bug, but not a living, breathing bird. so my heart melted a little for the poor thing. it makes one mistake and now it's doomed to die of dehydration in a yucky smelly garage far away from its family. so naturally, i try to fix that mistake.

heh. this is where the running came in handy. basically i just scared the bird all the way down and around out of the parking structure. poor thing, i tried fake chirping to make it feel better, but i definitely butchered the aves language.

running down a parking structure in one inch heels with random people driving by completely confused. but eh, i think it was worth it. i feel like i saved a life anyway.

it actually reminds me of a time a bird got confused and flew from its nest in tree in my house doorway into my house one late night. the poor little bird tried furiously to fly up, but kept on bonking its head into the ceiling. eventually it knocked itself out and my dad carefully picked it up with paper bags and gloves and set it outside. i got so sad because when we turned on the lights there were little red circles of blood on our ceiling. not that i was upset that our house was stained, but i felt so sorry for that little bird that made one little mistake in a state of confusion.

anyway. it should be noted that after my dad stepped away from the bird and left it lying on our front lawn, it got up and flew away. i hope the poor thing didn't loose too much blood. birds have families too y'know.
